Abstract

This project will investigate the 5G radio access network (RAN), particularly the open RAN architecture (O-RAN), in a network slicing scenario. Experiments will be carried out in the laboratory with Software Defined Radio (SDR) equipment to evaluate the slicing control cycle performed by an xApp, an application running on the intelligent control platform of the radio access network in near-real time (Near-RT RIC) to optimize the virtualized radio functions.
