Abstract

Cyclopropanes are extremely versatile as platforms for building organic molecules, since they have a high ring tension, being very reactive towards ring opening reactions. Sulfoxonium ylides can be used for these reactions, obtaining products of biological or synthetic interest. In this project we propose the use of chiral sulfoxonium ylides with the aim of carrying out the synthesis of chromenones from the ring opening/cyclization reaction of symmetric spirocyclopropanes, so that their desymmetrization occurs during the attack with the chiral reagent and it is possible obtain enantiomerically enriched chromenones.
