Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic continues to be an important global health issue, characterized by high morbidity and mortality, even though recent advances achieved through mass vaccination, control and prevention of viral transmission and the development of pharmacological treatment options are changing the dynamics of the disease. pandemic. The advancement of vaccination, including in Brazil, has resulted in improved epidemiological data, even if new viral variants prove to be a persistent challenge. Since the beginning of the first cases, health workers have been a group especially exposed to the risk of infection, which also justifies their prioritization in the vaccination campaign in some countries, as is the case in Brazil. The present study intends to study epidemiological and clinical aspects of COVID-19 cases among professionals at the UFSCar University Hospital since the beginning of the pandemic, evaluating the possible effect of immunization with the different vaccines available during the study period.
