Abstract The study of in vitro cell culture together with the multielectrode arrays (MEA) technique has provided significant advances in our understanding of the neurobiological basis of several diseases, such as the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). MEAs enable high precision recording of the electrical activity of neuronal populations, allowing for highly detailed assessment of action and local field potentials (LFPs) of complex cell networks. The spectral analysis of these signals allows us to infer communication mechanisms and to identify possible alterations in the neuronal activity underlying a neurological condition of interest. | |
