Abstract

This research aims to investigate and analyze the trajectories of children and adolescents in situations of child labor linked to the retail drug trade, their territorial displacements, as well as the services and equipment referenced. This research aims to contribute to the understanding of the limits and the contradictions of the social protection network and the System for Guaranteeing the Rights of Children and Adolescents from Brazil (Sistema de Garantia de Direitos de Crianças e Adolescentes - SGDCA). Through an interdisciplinary approach, the research proposes an analysis not only of the socio-economic aspects that contribute to the exploitation of child labor in the retail drug trade, classified by Convention 182 of the International Labor Organization (ILO) as one of the worst forms of child labor, but also an analysis of the protection and intervention mechanisms available and the relationship between the access of children and adolescents in the territory surveyed to these policies. Through field research based on ethnographic methodology, the research will seek to understand life trajectories, analyze patterns of territorial displacement and displacement by the referenced facilities, exposure to risk and specific vulnerabilities faced by these children and adolescents. It will also investigate the experiences and perceptions of the children and adolescents themselves in relation to work, education, the care and protection network and opportunities for the future. The expected results of this research aim to contribute to the reordering of the Rights Guarantee System in its work with children and adolescents who are part of the worst forms of child labor.
