Abstract

Pregnancy-associated cancer is defined as cancer that emerges during pregnancy or up to one year following childbirth. Among gynecological tumors, cervical carcinoma is the most prevalent in pregnant women globally. Nevertheless, the management of cervical cancer during pregnancy continues to present a significant challenge for the medical community, requiring a multidisciplinary and individualized approach to determine the optimal therapeutic strategy.Critical factors influencing decision-making include the gestational age at diagnosis, the histological subtype, the stage of the cancer, and the patient's preference regarding the continuation or termination of the pregnancy. Consequently, the standard treatment for cervical cancer during pregnancy remains a subject of debate due to the scarcity of evidence from cohort studies and clinical trials.This study aims to delineate the treatment strategies for cervical carcinoma associated with pregnancy, contributing to the expansion of evidence for clinical practice and enhancing the management and outcomes for pregnant women diagnosed with cervical carcinoma. We will conduct a cohort study including approximately 30 patients with cervical cancer associated with pregnancy, drawn from a total of about 750 patients treated for cervical cancer at our facility between 2000 and 2024.Our objective is to analyze survival rates, recurrence, treatment-related complications and prognostic factors in women diagnosed with cervical carcinoma during pregnancy.
