Abstract

The activities of this project were conceived to be carried out at the research laboratory of Prof. Dr. Lorenza Mondada, at the University of Basel (Switzerland). This research proposal is structured along two axes: Axis 1) description and analysis of the social organization of atypical interactions: involving the participation of autistic children from the perspective of linguistic and interactional analysis from a multimodal viewpoint. Axis 2) deepening studies on the corporeality, materiality and sensoriality of human interaction, in its theoretical, methodological and critical dimensions. The aims are: a) to deepen multimodal analysis procedures for interactions involving autistic children, taking into account three dimensions for analysis: materiality, corporeality and sensoriality that constitute these interactions; b) to deepen the theoretical bases that support the thesis that human interaction and cognition are primarily multimodal; c) to consolidate an ongoing international project (Making Bones Talk 2022-current) that has been the basis for the development of multimodality theorizing in human interaction.
