Abstract

This research focuses on the possible reasons for climate variation in the State of São Paulo from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. To conduct it, data from the meteorological collections of the Geographic and Geological Commission of São Paulo will be compared with current meteorological data for the city of São Paulo. The aim of the research is to understand how climate patterns vary on a secular scale and what evidence there is of vegetation cover controls over these processes.
