Abstract

This internship project abroad is based on the possibility of improving and qualifying research underway in Brazil supported by FAPESP. To this end, three pragmatic fronts will be developed: the systematic incursion into archives in order to access documentation not available digitally; access to specialized libraries, in order to obtain bibliographic material in the same situation as the previous item; and privileged dialogue with qualified researchers and research centers. The investigations will be mediated by two thematic axes, namely, the isolation and restoration of the Mausoleum of Augustus and the excavation and reconstruction of the Ara Pacis Augustae, as well as the troubled relationship established between them. The specificities and correlations are found within the general scope of the systematization process of Piazza Augusto Imperatore. The aim is, therefore, to provide a solid contribution to the work in progress, as well as offering relevant research products, such as an article, communication at scientific meetings and offering a mini-course.
