Abstract Considering that brachycephalic dogs have been increasing in popularity amongfamilies over the years and due to their anatomical deformities have apredisposition to the development of Brachycephalic Air Obstructive Syndrome (BOAS) whichcauses several consequences for the body due to the inflammation generated and changes inmicrobiota, reducing the animal's quality of life, this study proposes the determination andcomparison of the composition of the nasal microbiota and subglottic area in 20 Bulldog dogsFrench affected (grade III) or unaffected (grade 0) by BOAS, through metagenomic analysisof the nasal microbiota and subglottic area, with the aim of determining and comparing the diversitytaxonomic analysis of microorganisms from affected (grade III) and non-affected French Bulldogs(grade 0) by SOAB and correlate the prevalence of certain taxonomic groups, throughof shotgun sequencing. | |
