Abstract

This journalistic research will make up a constellation of medium-length documentaries by director Ugo Giorgetti. The audiovisual pieces will focus on the city, honoring not only the filmmaker's subject par excellence - the capital of São Paulo - but also his verve. The aim of this research proposal is to think about and implement science communication as cultural criticism and to give the form of an essayistic chronicle to an expressive set of texts that reveal and formalize the partial content of the post-doctoral research Against erasure, the non-fiction cinema of Ugo Giorgetti, carried out within the scope of the Laboratory for Advanced Studies in Journalism at Unicamp, under funding from FAPESP. The dissemination products will be published in the science journalism publications of the Laboratory for Advanced Studies in Journalism (Labjor/Unicamp): the magazine ComCiência and the podcast Oxigênio, as well as others that will eventually be created. The main result will be a compilation of essayistic chronicles.
