Abstract

This project aims to develop one of the stages of our doctoral research which aims to contextually evaluate the conception of language worked on in the 1960s by Lacan from the point of view of two other theoretical efforts, Gilles Deleuze and Jacques Derrida. If the psychoanalyst inaugurated his seminar seeking to detach psychoanalysis from the metaphysical adherences it had to a structuralist consideration of language based on Saussure and Lévi-Strauss, this conception found its limits when its passage from a transcendental to a transcendent place was made explicit. In response to this, we see the psychoanalyst deepening symbolic autonomy to the point of abandoning any point of correction and extra-symbolic guarantee for its institution and determining/limiting it internally by the real. Our aim here is to evaluate this second conception of language based on the questions and problems that Deleuze and Derrida posed to structuralism and language at the time. Looking for philosophical ways to enunciate the developments we find in Lacanian teaching and to evaluate them, we will turn to the philosophers to (1) think about how language remained in this onto-epistemological place, opened up by structuralism and maintained even after its relative abandonment in teaching, after the emergence of the real, which we intend to discuss on the basis of the ambiguity between transcendental and limit posited by Deleuze, and (2) to evaluate if this conception of language was able to detach itself from the metaphysics of presence, as described by Derrida, or if it still resorted to any foundation or center in order to establish itself.
