Abstract

This project seeks to experimentally investigate quantum turbulence and the evolution of ultracold atomic gases far from equilibrium. The undergraduate student will be integrated into experiments involving Bose-Einstein condensates, where he will have contact with techniques for cooling atoms, inducing turbulence and analyzing data obtained by time-of-flight expansion. The objective is to understand the evolution of the properties of quantum systems during relaxation and return to equilibrium, focusing on observing phenomena such as non-thermal fixed points and energy cascades. This experience will be fundamental to the student's academic development, providing him with contact with advanced techniques in experimental physics, data analysis, and non-equilibrium systems.
