Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the symptoms of long Covid among people with and without systemic arterial hypertension. This is a non-concurrent retrospective cohort study, which will be carried out at the Epidemiological Surveillance Service, Department of Primary and Outpatient Care and reference hospitals of the Unified Health System (SUS) for the care of patients with Covid-19 in the city of São Carlos-SP. The study population is composed of people who had Covid-19 with laboratory diagnosis, from January 2021 to December 31, 2024; being classified into two groups, one with people with SAH who developed long Covid and the group of individuals without SAH and with long Covid. This study will use the database of a funded project (Artificial intelligence techniques for case identification and clinical management of long Covid cases) by two CNPq notices, in force and coordinated by the advisor, processes 4443612023-5 and 4074972023-4. For the aforementioned studies, a sample calculation was performed, which showed the need for an n of 1423 cases of long Covid. In the first stage of data collection, the variables of interest will be recorded in a spreadsheet, in addition to the address and contact; in the Epidemiological Surveillance Service of the study municipality and in the second stage, the electronic medical records will be analyzed through access to the services of the municipality's health care network, in addition to Vacivida. The data will be organized in a computerized database in Excel and will initially be analyzed through descriptive statistics, later the relative risk will be estimated through crude and adjusted logistic regression. All statistical analyses will be performed using SAS 9.4 software and considering a significance level of 5%. According to Resolution 510/2016, the database that will be analyzed in the referred Project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar in 2023 (CAAE: 67128023.4.00005504).
