Abstract

Some preliminary studies show that Western São Paulo has a large concentration of self-declared indigenous people, mainly around the municipalities that house Indigenous Lands, therefore, it becomes necessary to study why these people leave their lands and move around towards their surroundings. It will also be verified whether in any way the reasons constitute a violation of their fundamental rights, expressed in the Federal Constitution of 1988. For this, our spatial focus is the Vanuire Indigenous Land, the study will have the active participation of the indigenous community. We also intend to delve deeper into concepts such as indigenous territory. For that, we will use Participant Observation, semi-structured questionnaires, the field diary and information from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), from the years 2010 and 2022. The information collected will be presented in the form of thematic maps, with QGIS' assistance and of tables and graphs. The objective is to understand how the mobility of Indigenous Peoples occurs in the municipalities of Arco-Íris and Tupã, São Paulo.
