Abstract

Soviet psychologist L. S. Vygotsky formulated a periodization of human development based on the relationship between children and their social environment, which has received much attention in recent decades. He associated the concept of "world view" with the concept of "personality," since both refer to the totality of higher psychological functions. At the end of his work, Vygotsky found that the concept/meaning is the cell of thought. In this way, the author sought to demonstrate the role of the development of concepts in the constitution of the world view throughout childhood. Given that the relationship between the formation of concepts and the world view is central to the author's work, the objective of this project is to analyze how this relationship is structured in preschool age. Specifically, we intend to analyze how the author defines the world view before language acquisition, as well as his explanations on overcoming childhood egocentrism through the development of concepts. Vygotsky's works will be the main reference. The Conceptual Text Interpretation Procedures (PICT) will be used as a methodological tool for carrying out the analysis. This methodology aims to establish relationships between the scientific concepts developed by the author, seeking to overcome common sense conceptions that may interfere with the interpretation. At the end of the project, it is expected to formulate an accurate view of the dynamics between the development of concepts and the world view in preschool age.
