Abstract

The growing importance of the circular economy as a sustainable and competitive strategy in the business world, as well as its incipient, but with high growth potential, implementation in small businesses, ends up showing the need to monitor and discuss how academia is evolving with analyses that integrate the circular economy and small businesses. Therefore, this scientific initiation project aims to characterize the advances in discussions on the circular economy in small businesses. The methods of systematic and bibliographic review will be used. The results are expected to show the state of the art of scientific productions on the relationship between the circular economy and small businesses. It also intends to show the advances in implementing the circular economy in small Brazilian businesses. Finally, this research is expected to discuss the differences between the general literature on the circular economy and the specific literature on the same subject, focusing on small businesses.
