Abstract

This project aims to map and analyze fires in the state of Acre, focusing on the intentionality of these practices, air quality, and relationships with road infrastructure. Using geoprocessing techniques at the Laboratory of Applied Geoprocessing for the Environment (LabGAMA) of the Federal University of Acre, the study will seek to identify fire patterns and understand the motivations of local communities behind these practices. In addition, the impacts of fires on public health and biodiversity will be assessed, with the collection of data on air quality. The assessments will involve technical, social, and environmental aspects, ensuring an integrated approach. The expected results include a detailed mapping of the affected areas, the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices, and raising awareness among communities about the benefits of environmental conservation. The results will be disseminated through social media, academic publications, and informational materials, aiming to engage the community and influence public policies. This project will not only contribute to academic knowledge, but will also promote sustainable development, improving the quality of life and health of local populations, while protecting the region's ecosystems.
