Abstract

The project "How can educommunication expand and qualify climate education in Basic Education in Brazil?" will invest in experimenting with public communication of science (CASTELFRANCHI; FAZIO, 2021) based on the foundations of educommunication (SOARES, 2011, 2012, 2014), and in attention to the public problem that it seeks to face - the little knowledge of a large part of educators and students in Basic Education in Brazil regarding the climate emergency and how to mobilize to face it (JACOBI et al., 2015; MARCHEZINI and LONDE, 2020; GRANDISOLI et al., 2022).The goals are:-Experiment with strategies for translating the scientific knowledge resulting from the project for a non-specialized audience in different languages and formats (such as cards and carousels for social networks, short videos, short texts, and podcasts);-Disclose these productions throughout the project on the various channels of the NCE/ECA/USP networks and partner organizations (MMA/MC, MEC, and SME-SP);-Also articulate the channels of educommunication, education, communication, and mobilization organizations and collectives already working in Brazil to combat the climate emergency, which will be mapped in the project's first year.Fellow Sofia Helena Lanza, who is studying for a Degree in Journalism at ECA/USP, will work following the principles of plain language (Municipal Decree 59,067/2019 of São Paulo), digital accessibility (Federal Law nº 13,146/2015) and educational open resources - REA (Municipal Decree 52,681/2011 of Sao Paulo). It will develop the following activities foreseen in the Work Plan schedule previously approved by Fapesp, linked to process 2023/08836-2:-Carrying out the online course "Educommunication and public communication of Science", from ABPEducom;-Bibliographic review on educommunication and public communication of science;-Interviews with employees from the MMA, MEC, and SME-SP to map opportunities, expectations, and challenges of the project about communicating its process and results;-Interviews with associated researchers to map opportunities, expectations, and challenges of the project about communicating its process and results-Dissemination of the project to the non-specialized public in different languages and formats;-Produce a report with the results of this Work Plan, which has the potential to become a scientific article.References cited:CASTELFRANCHI, Y.; FAZIO, M.
