Abstract

In the present project, the development of a low-cost electrochemical sensor using the photothermal process of CO¿ laser is proposed. With the aim of enhancing sensitivity in analytical determination, the sensor fabrication parameters will be optimized. The electrode surface will be modified with copper oxide nanoparticles to promote a catalytic effect in glucose quantification. For this purpose, the conditions of the modification step will also be investigated. After the optimization steps, electrochemical and morphological characterizations will be performed using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive Xray spectroscopy. Furthermore, relevant analytical parameters, such as repeatability, reproducibility, and detection limit, will be determined to evaluate the sensor's performance. This fabrication approach aims to develop a sensor that can eventually be manufactured as a wearable sensor for glucose quantification directly on the skin.
