Abstract

The analysis of DDoS attack prediction and detection depends on the construction of virtual environments in which the effects of this malicious activity do not cause harm to people and the services offered in network environments. In this context, tools such as \textit{docker} and \textit{kubernetes} stand out for enabling experiments to be carried out by emulating networks in virtual environments, completely segregated from the network environments used by people and companies. Knowledge of how to use these tools is essential in conducting the activities carried out in the context of the MENTORED project, since it directly contributes to the evaluation of the quality of existing detection and prediction mechanisms, in addition to reducing the costs of acquiring and implementing equipment. This scientific initiation project aims to analyze how the use of virtualization tools affects the process of evaluating the quality of DDoS attack prediction and detection mechanisms created in the MENTORED project.
