Abstract

This study addresses the urgent need to develop effective vaccines against Staphylococcus aureus, a common pathogen that can cause anything from superficial infections to severe diseases. The resistance to multiple antibiotics increases the clinical challenge associated with this pathogen, emphasizing the importance of preventive strategies. The study proposes an innovative approach by integrating proteomic and transcriptomic analyses during the transition from biofilm to invasive phenotype. The process involves RNA isolation, library production, and sequencing, in collaboration with experts in proteomic analysis. The selection of target proteins is based on combined criteria, prioritizing exposed and conserved molecules. The study will also assess the immunogenic profile of candidates, recombinant production, and detailed characterization of the immune response. It is expected that this unique approach will significantly contribute to the development of more effective vaccine strategies against the challenging S. aureus.
