Abstract

Anxiety is a very common disease nowadays and is characterized by an exacerbated fear of the future and attempts to anticipate dangerous events or situations. The young population is in the age group most affected by anxiety, leading the disease rates. Therefore, it is very common for the real scenario to be distorted due to exaggerated worry, which generates various symptoms, such as restlessness, headaches, increased heart rate, muscle tension, sweating, nausea, shortness of breath and xerostomia (feeling of mouth drought).The study aims to evaluate the possible effects of practicing cranioacupuncture on anxious students of the dentistry course at the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba (FOP), in order to observe the results obtained and with them conclude the benefit of acupuncture (resource from Traditional Chinese Medicine) in the treatment of anxiety, in addition to evaluating the energy profile of students during the process.
