Abstract

This research project aims to conduct a narrative literature review focused on the puerperalperiod, considering the context of Primary Health Care (PHC), with the goal of understandingthe discourses and practices directed at bodies that carry and experience the postpartumperiod. The central hypothesis is that the puerperal period is still underexplored in theliterature, especially regarding its intersections and medicalizing discourses. The researchintends to analyze scientific articles in Portuguese from the last five years that address thepuerperal period and its consequences. The results will be interpreted using Content Analysis,as proposed by Bardin. In this way, the study aims to gain deeper insights into the puerperalperiod, as well as to bring more attention to the experience of the postpartum phase.
