Evaluation of prenatal health care according to an epidemiological study and a critical-reflective review

Abstract

A quality prenatal transcends a look under the quantitative data commonly used to evaluate the quality of care provided and perceived by the users in the pregnancy-puerperal period, so that the recommended number of consultations for pregnant women, for example, does not mean a pre- -national quality. This proposal aims to carry out a critical and reflexive review based on documentary analysis, scientific literature and an epidemiological study on the quality of prenatal care in primary care in the city of São Carlos, SP, in order to evidence the proposed parameters evaluation of the quality of prenatal and postnatal care in basic care. This is a critical study of a reflexive nature that articulates a cross-sectional, population-based observational epidemiological study associated with a documentary review of public policies, in particular the Birth and Birth Humanization Program and the Stork Network, proposed by the Ministry of Health and other recommendations of the WHO and an integrative review of the literature in order to verify if the measures of quality of care recommended can cover what has been called quality of care in prenatal care. It will be developed in 3 stages: Step 1- Documentary and Integrative Review on prenatal quality. Step 2 - Situational diagnosis - quantitative phase: to calculate the indicators of characterization of prenatal care and delivery proposed by the Ministry of Health, compared to the year 2018. Step 3 - Articulation of the results of the previous stages by means of an analysis criticizes For data analysis: planned steps for the documentary and literature reviews made explicit by the review methods; Epidemiological description of simple and cross tabulations of the data, processed in Epi-info v. 7.2, with double independent typing; Statistical Package for the Social Sciences Program (SPSS) ® 18.0. It is hoped, through the articulation of the three stages, to evaluate the quality of care in prenatal care, postpartum and breastfeeding, in the light of the gender perspective, dialogical feminism, reproductive rights, integral care and humanization in health and aim other quality measures. It is also expected that this proposal will carry out the first stage of a subsequent PhD study entitled "Evaluation of health care in prenatal care according to egalitarian dialogue between health professionals and pregnant / puerperal women", a step that aims to examine the theoretical background and / or to review the research carried out and the theories that have some relation with the problem, to broaden the view about the study and to facilitate the field work, thus contributing to the elaboration of the theoretical framework of a process of communicative investigation.
