Abstract

Gas separation is a crucial process for controlling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Membrane separation is one of the promising technologies for CO2 capture. Currently, this technology receives worldwide attention due to its easy operation, low environmental impact and low energy consumption when compared to other conventional gas separation processes. Furthermore, the incorporation of nanomaterials in membrane matrices plays an important role, providing additional benefits in selective gas separation processes and providing mechanical stability. In this context, the objective of this project is to develop and obtain a proof of concept of CO2/N2 separation membranes based on new nanostructured materials. This approach aims to mitigate CO2 emissions and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
