Abstract

In this research project, we are searching for magnetic cataclysmic variables, which are close binary systems composed of a magnetic white dwarf that accretes matter via accretion column from a low-mass-main-sequence star, in the alerts issued by FINK-broker applied to the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) survey and in the future to the Vera C. Rubin Observatory. In those candidates, we will perform follow-up observations to detect circular polarization using the SPARC4 instrument from Observatório Pico dos Dias/Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica. The magnetic systems confirmed will allow a better census of the class and evolution studies, which is still an open question in the literature. In addition, other exoplanet candidates belonging to those systems should be discovered and characterized. In this context, we also propose investigating the stability and dynamical evolution of the planetary systems in the pre-cataclysmic variable scenario using N-body simulations.
