Abstract

Developmental criminology seeks to understand how individual, social, and contextual factors interact throughout life to influence criminal behavior. This approach emphasizes adolescence as a critical phase, characterized by the interaction between individual predispositions and environmental influences. It is a period of greater vulnerability, but also of plasticity and opportunities for intervention. By applying this focus to female delinquency, it is possible to understand how gender dynamics and structural inequalities shape the experiences of this group and influence their life trajectories. In this context, rights and public policies play a crucial, yet not always effective, role in preventing and addressing criminal involvement. The objectives of this research include analyzing the risk and protective factors associated with female delinquency, understanding the influence of structural inequalities and gender dynamics on these experiences, and examining the related rights and public policies. The methodology involves an integrative literature review, based on databases from the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the theoretical framework of the Criminology and Juvenile Delinquency Group, as well as a comparative analysis of public policies in Brazil and Spain due to the existing differences.
