Abstract

The main objective of this project is to carry out an introductory study on commutative algebra and the concept of free divisors. Once the preliminary concepts of commutative algebra have been introduced, the focus will be on the study of plane algebraic curves in order to establish criteria for the freeness of such curves on the projective plane.
