Abstract

Primeiros Laços is a home visit program aimed at adolescent pregnant women in vulnerable situations. Its effectiveness has already been demonstrated in the municipality of São Paulo; however, methodological adaptations are needed for large-scale implementation in Primary Health Care (PHC). The study's objective is to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of implementing the program in two municipalities in São Paulo state: Indaiatuba and Jaguariúna. The study will adopt a Type II hybrid effectiveness-implementation design, combining a single-blind randomized controlled clinical trial with feasibility assessment using the EPIS framework (Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, and Sustainment). A total of 200 adolescent pregnant participants (14 to 20 years old) will be randomly allocated into intervention or control groups. Participants in the intervention group will receive 40 home visits conducted by trained nurses. These visits will begin during pregnancy and continue until the child's 24th month, addressing topics such as breastfeeding, child development, postpartum depression, non-violent education, and positive parenting. The control group will receive only the usual care provided by Basic Health Units (UBS). It is expected that the intervention group will achieve better physical and mental health outcomes compared to the control group. Regarding implementation, the program is anticipated to prove sustainable, reliable, and feasible, with strong adherence from professionals and participants. Keywords: home visit; pediatric nursing; pregnant women; adolescent mothers; child development.
