Abstract

The Primeiros Laços program is a home visit initiative aimed at pregnant adolescents in situations of social vulnerability. The objective of this project will be to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the program in the city of Indaiatuba. The study will use a hybrid model of effectiveness and implementation of type II, allowing the simultaneous evaluation of the effectiveness and feasibility of the program in Primary Care. The analysis of effectiveness will be conducted through a randomized, controlled, single-blind clinical trial (with blinding of the evaluator), while feasibility will be evaluated through the EPIS (Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, and Sustainability) framework. 200 pregnant women, aged between 14 and 20 years, with up to 20 weeks of gestation and living in Indaiatuba will be selected. In a 1:1 ratio, the participants will be randomly distributed into two groups: the intervention group, which will receive 40 home visits between pregnancy and the child's 2nd birthday, carried out by trained nurses; and the control group, which will continue to receive the usual care in Primary Care. The visits will cover topics such as breastfeeding, eating habits, social rights, attachment, family planning, postpartum depression, child development and non-violent parenting. External evaluators will apply standardized instruments to both groups throughout the study, such as the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, the Tilburg Pregnancy Distress Scale, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale and others aimed at assessing child development, maternal behavior and the home environment. It is expected that mother-infant dyads in the intervention group will present better physical and mental health outcomes. Regarding implementation, the program is expected to be sustainable, reliable and with high potential for adherence by professionals and users.Keywords: home visit; pediatric nursing; pregnant women; adolescent mothers; child development.
