Abstract

Surgical site infection, reoperation, and readmission reflect the clinical deterioration of the patient and are indicators that measure the quality of care. In patients diagnosed with tumors in the upper airways (TVAS), clinical deterioration represents a significant burden in the oncological journey. Therefore, early detection will allow timely interventions and provide better outcomes for the patient. In this proposal, we will use Artificial Intelligence techniques, along with a database of 10,000 oncology patients who underwent surgical procedures, to predict clinical deterioration in patients with TVAS. By utilizing explainability techniques in the predictions, we hope to understand the main variables associated with these indicators.
