Abstract

The aim of this plan is to analyze, philosophically and theologically, religious pluralism in light of Christian revelation, as designated by the Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum. This objective is justified by the universal nature of God's revelation in Jesus Christ, which is full, complete, perfect, and definitive, and therefore serves as illumination for religious pluralism to be conceived within an inclusive soteriological perspective and interreligious dialogue. Furthermore, this Dogmatic Constitution was approved after the Declaration Nostra Aetate, which brought Christianity closer to other religions, opening space for the intensification of interreligious dialogue and providing elements for a Christian theology of religious pluralism, whose epistemology is founded on the concept of revelation. To achieve this goal, the context in which the Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum emerged and its structure will be analyzed philosophically and theologically, as a document within the Second Vatican Council, relating it to other documents. Following this, the concept of revelation will be inferred from this constitution, as well as how it sheds light on religious pluralism. Then, key points that demonstrate the relevance of Christian revelation in the context of religious pluralism will be drawn. Finally, all analyzed material will be systematized into a Qualis article, a communication to be published in the Annals of a scientific event, and an extended abstract to be published in the Annals of the Scientific Initiation Meeting of the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas.
