Abstract Rafael Lozano-Hemmer is a Mexican multimedia artist who trained and worked professionally in Canada. In 1992, he entered the artistic world, focusing on computational, numerical and algorithmic arts, in order to define them as dialogical. Lozano finds in this emerging artistic niche his way of creating new expressions of the image, which becomes a relational spectacle, that is, an interactive system that creates new interactions between author-work-receiver. Recent sociotechnical and cosmotechnical studies highlight the point that technology is not neutral. In this way, this project proposes to explore the productions of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer in the light of technological debates in Mexican art, based on the analysis of the new emergences of the image frontiers that the author permeates. The objective is to propose the reading of works through a theoretical approach - between images, Latin American contexts and interactivities within the permissible public-work limits -, which will allow us to develop a digital curation as a final product. | |
