Abstract

In this undergraduate project, we address the staff-scheduling problem from a public institution. We consider its operational rules and constraints. Generally, the staff schedule is defined manually, making it challenging to consider all employee preferences. The objectives of this project include investigating a new formulation based on the use of patterns to represent the problem that focuses on balancing employee preferences. The aim is also to develop a prototype that the person in charge can use. More specifically, we are approaching the ICMC/USP library schedule, which data will be used in this study.
