Abstract

This work plan is part of the Direct Doctoral research underway in Brazil (FAPESP 2023/09163-1) and aims to carry out a conceptual review of hydrogeomorphological risk mapping in tropical landscapes, deepening the ongoing discussion in the "Landscapes of the Humid Tropics" chapter of the thesis. In particular, we seek to analyze the relevance of replacing the concept of dangerousness with that of severity, considering this possibility in light of the theoretical debates already established on the topic. In addition, a refinement of the descriptions of the vertical and horizontal structures of the landscape will be carried out in the hydrogeomorphological risk sectors of Rio Claro (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The proposal will be developed at the University of Granada, under the supervision of Prof. Eduardo Salinas Chávez, a specialist in landscape studies with extensive experience in tropical landscapes. This will allow for a critical and in-depth analysis of the applicability of the concept and a more precise description of the landscapes under analysis. (AU)
