Abstract This project aims to translate the first 25 paragraphs of the speech In Pisonem into Portuguese, published by the orator Marcus Tullius Cicero in 55 BCE. This translation will be preceded by an introductory study that will contextualize the invective against Piso and the active participation of public figures in the Roman political life of that period. Furthermore, explanatory notes will be provided to support rhetorical concepts that will guide the understanding of both the translation and the introductory essay. | |
