Abstract This project stems from the concerns expressed in the master's research "Mobral: memory, experience and contradiction". The comparison of the reports of the historical subjects who worked in the movement - teachers from the PAF (Functional Literacy Program) and PEI (Integrated Teaching Program), supervisors and writers of the teaching material - with the articles published in the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper and with the documents written by Fundacao Mobral, prompted an analysis anchored in a game of scales. The intersection between the micro level - program participants - and the macro level - historical context of the movement's implementation - allowed contrasts and contradictions between public opinion, the program guidelines and the subject's experience to emerge. However, refining and expanding the investigative corpus is necessary. Finding and questioning the students who participated in the program, as well as representatives of Mobral's financial sector and teachers who did not have higher education training, will nuance the analyzes of this corpus. Investigating this in detail will contribute to the research and will contemplate the multivocality of historical agents. Therefore, the aim of this project is: to unveil the different ways of meaning of the program to highlight and intertwine the multiple ways of experiencing and appropriating the same event. Depending on the conditions of production of the subjects, the experience and the meaning attributed to it vary; this variety presumes a tension, a conflict, which will be the object of study in this work. This tension, generated by the different ways of signifying the subjects' experience, will be scrutinized based on historical-cultural theory and oral history, thus focusing on the process of meaning, the experience, and the way in which the subjects remember.
