Abstract

The ongoing postdoctoral research has focused on analyzing the forms of rent capitalization arising from what we recognize as the subsumption of nature by the real estate sector, guided by the creation of sustainability elements that influence the pricing of properties. Given the renewal of the fellowship in the country, we proposed deepening the debate on the diffusion of sustainable finance, focusing on the so-called ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) agenda in the real estate sector, based on the hypothesis that this movement is related to the processes of financialization, expanding the possibilities of capitalizing rent. The goal of the research abroad is to assess to what extent the Latin American literature on sustainable finance contributes to the understanding of the specific dynamics of capitalization of nature by the real estate sector in the global South. As a method, a systematic review of the literature is proposed. To this end, Latin indexers will be mobilized (Capes Portal of Periodicals; Latindex; Scielo). We hope that the internship will strengthen and expand the international research networks in which the fellow has been involved through his ongoing collaboration with the research group of Professor Rodrigo Hidalgo, from PUC-Chile. We also hope that the research abroad will contribute to the preparation of the final article of the postdoctoral fellowship, to be submitted to an indexed journal. In addition to actively participating in meetings of the supervisor's research group abroad, we hope to jointly participate in an international conference and hold a seminar to conclude the internship to discuss the results.
