Abstract

The practice of physical activity is widely recognized in the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases (CRD). One way to promote it within health services is through referrals to physical activity programs and health counseling. Despite the importance of this practice for people with CRD, most studies address the topic focusing on the general population. This study aims to investigate how the multidisciplinary Primary Health Care (PHC) team promotes physical activity for patients with CRD, with an emphasis on counseling and referral strategies, in addition to identifying the number of participants with CRD in programs offered by the municipality. It will be a cross-sectional, observational survey-type study, conducted with PHC health professionals and individuals with CRD participating in physical activity programs in PHC units of Adamantina-SP. The professionals will respond to a structured questionnaire with objective questions, adapted from previous studies and based on the Brief Counseling Guide for Physical Activity by the Ministry of Health. It will include sections on sociodemographic profile, education and professional practice, referral and counseling practices, and knowledge of WHO recommendations, including an analysis of conduct in the context of a clinical case of COPD. Individuals with CRD will respond to a questionnaire developed by the researchers, covering sociodemographic data, smoking history, health conditions, length of participation in the program and access methods, as well as daily physical activities based on the Vigitel survey. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in tables and/or graphs. It is expected to understand the frequency and strategies used by PHC, contributing to the strengthening of public policies aimed at promoting physical activity. (AU)
