Abstract

Organizations are subject to projects arising from the need for change, whether they are small changes or major organizational transformations. Along with the new technologies and processes implemented, there is often a need to change people's skills, their behaviors and, in general, the current organizational culture in the organization, so that it can prepare for present and future challenges. Change management is one of the skills/capabilities that can be considered among the most important and necessary for organizations in the future, but it is considered among the weakest skills of current leaders. Although there is no shortage of change management models, there is a need to promote the capacity or competence in Change Management (in being able to make the change) - a Leadership Capable of Change, with behaviors and mindsets necessary to lead the change effectively. This leadership must be able to establish a common direction for the change, and align people and resources in that same direction. The focus should be on building collective commitment to make the change effort successful. Thus, the objective of this plan is to develop competencies applied to the change management process in public institutions in the state of São Paulo. To this end, building an organizational change capacity will involve three main areas: (i) an organizational context that supports change; (ii) an organizational culture that facilitates learning; and (iii) the implementation of change. Building this capacity (or this competency) requires interventions focused on the members, structure, and culture of the organization. As a result, this research project will seek to align such construction with the context of public elementary and secondary education institutions in the state of São Paulo and sustainable development, as well as to analyze its effectiveness in promoting the necessary changes among the agents in the sector. The aim is to disseminate the results of the research, preliminarily, through presentations at seminars and conferences that are of interest to the supervisor and the scholarship holder. In the same sense, we will seek to use CPTEn's dedicated scientific journalism channels (https://cpten.unicamp.br/noticias-cpten/) to disseminate the results, seeking to reach a larger scientific and lay audience. Finally, we plan to submit scientific articles and book chapters that comprise the research carried out. (AU)
