Abstract

The investigation proposed here aims to explore the knowledge and experiences necessary for the development of a curriculum proposal for Youth and Adult Education that is connected to the local reality and the needs of the individuals involved in this modality in the municipality of Santa Gertrudes (SP), Brazil. To this end, this study will employ a qualitative method, utilizing techniques such as bibliographic review and focus groups with educators and students from the Municipal Elementary School João Ruffino, which houses the Youth and Adult Education classrooms in the municipality of Santa Gertrudes (SP). Additionally, the proposed investigation will use categorical analysis techniques with the support of NVivo® software as a tool for analyzing the collected data. In this way, it is expected that this research will contribute to the improvement of basic education by supporting, through a dialogical discussion with its participants, the construction of a truly emancipatory curriculum for Youth and Adult Education, a modality that has been historically marginalized within educational debates and public policies.
