Abstract

This research project is interdisciplinary in nature and focuses on the theme of environmental sustainability. It will be developed within the scope of the research group called "Public policies, sustainability and protection of vulnerable people", directly linked to the Research Line "Human rights and public policies". The main focus of its discussion is intergovernmental public policies that specifically concern the reduction of negative environmental impact per capita and the implementation of integrated policies and plans for inclusion, resource efficiency, mitigation and adaptation to climate change. The main objective is to analyze whether the urban legislation of the municipality of Campinas/São Paulo, represented by its current Master Plan, addresses the issue of energy transition and, if so, how it does so. The research is exploratory in nature and will involve bibliographic and documentary research, especially in relation to official United Nations documents related to Sustainable Development Goal 7 of the United Nations Agenda, Brazil, the State of São Paulo and the current Master Plan of the municipality of Campinas, which seek to achieve decarbonization goals in the country. The Race to Zero campaign proposed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and adopted by the State of São Paulo will also be addressed in the research. The expected result is to structure information in an analytical way that contributes to energy transition and efficiency projects within the scope of the São Paulo Center for Energy Transition Studies.
