Abstract

This research was born from an insistence: the desire to understand the relations that Roland Barthes maintained with the various languages that, in some way, inhabit his texts and affect his criticism and teaching. From Marxism and psychoanalysis, through Sartrean existentialism and the structuralist lexicon, Barthes lent some signifiers. Strategically displaced to the field of literary criticism, analytical concepts gain new contours and new problems when handled by a reading that has literature as its paradigm. In this work we propose a study of the mobilizations of psychoanalytic language in Barthesian criticism, a fantastematic selection of his work, of the thematic movements of his discourse. We search, having as corpus of analysis The Pleasure of the Text, the project of A Lover's Discourse: Fragments and The neutral, barthesians productions of the 1970s in which we identify a fruitful conversation with psychoanalysis, the deviations from some of its notions, such as style, imaginary, pleasure, language, and their critical and theoretical incidences. Keywords: Roland Barthes. Literature. Language. Psychoanalysis. (AU)
