Abstract

Accelerated urban growth has brought debates about geomorphological changes and their impacts on the relief due to human actions, resulting from the lack of land use planning. These impacts significantly affect rapidly expanding urban centers, such as the cities of Americana and Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, historically marked by changes in land use and cover. In this way, the research proposes the study of a gully sector, located in a peri-urban area, where the municipal limits of the aforementioned municipalities are located, which are in the process of expansion and great advancement in the conurbation of their urban fabric. However, it is necessary to understand the complexity of the factors that permeate the study area, through methodologies that allow the correlation of urban development, human actions and changes in relief that will result from these relationships. Quantitative results are sought that will be organized and prepared based on cartographic products, evaluating the occupied areas, separating them into land use pattern classes. In addition, maps of existing geomorphological features will be prepared, specifying their characteristics. Therefore, the results to be obtained seek a comparative apparatus between different years, noting the erosive evolution of the study area. With this, it is emphasized that the research is of great relevance in terms of studies of geomorphology, the urban and its results in the physical environment. (AU)
