Abstract

Violence against women is a serious violation of human rights and may manifest as physical, psychological, patrimonial, moral, or sexual violence. In Campinas, São Paulo, the notification of such cases is carried out through the Campinas Violence Notification System. However, studies point to limitations in this process, with reports concentrated in higher-complexity services such as hospitals and emergency units, and a significant degree of underreporting. This situation appears to be linked to work overload, lack of professional training, and limited knowledge about notification procedures. In light of this scenario, this study aims to analyze the challenges faced by Primary Health Care professionals in identifying, managing, and reporting cases of violence against women. Using a qualitative and analytical approach, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews will be conducted with professionals from Basic Health Units. The goal is to develop guiding directives for health education strategies that support and enhance professional practice, aiming to reduce underreporting and the impact of violence on women's lives, while contributing to the development of public policies that provide equitable, comprehensive, and effective care.
