Abstract

This research project aims to present the schedule of activities and describe the theoretical and practical issues that will be investigated during the development of the Research Internship Abroad, to be held from November 10, 2025, to February 9, 2026, with academic affiliation at the Laboratoire d'Études Interdisciplinaires sur le Réel et les Imaginaires Sociaux (LEIRIS) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fabio La Rocca, at Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3, in France. The proposal is to further studies in the field of urban imaginaries and visual and film sociology, theoretical foundations that underpin the methodological procedures used by the scholarship recipient to contextualize and interpret the object of study of her Master's degree in Brazil: Filme Demência (Carlos Reichenbach, 1987). To achieve this objective, the internship will be organized around three axes: bibliographic research in libraries and databases available at the Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3; periodic meetings with researchers from LEIRIS; visits to the Centre Pierre Naville in Paris and other French centers dedicated to research in Visual and Film Sociology, such as: the Laboratoire Profession, Architecture, Ville, Environnement (PAVE | ENSAP) in Bordeaux; the department of Sociologie visuelle at the Université de Tours in Tours; and the Centre Max Weber in Saint-Étienne, where they conduct the Axe Sociologies visuelles.
