Abstract

This journalistic research proposal aims to develop science communication strategies focused on raising awareness and mobilizing managers of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), policymakers, and health professionals regarding the issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Brazil. Based on the activities of the ARIES Project - Antimicrobial Resistance Institute of São Paulo - a center funded by FAPESP under the CEPID program, the proposal will focus on the curation and adaptation of international materials produced by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), making this content accessible and applicable to the Brazilian context. The focus will be on building a communication agenda oriented towards education, awareness, and strengthening the SUS's capacities to address AMR. Activities include producing digital content (short videos, carousels, and materials for professional networks), with an emphasis on dissemination through social media, institutional networks, and technical spaces for public health managers. The production of visual briefings, presentations, and a summary institutional video at the end of the fellowship period is also planned.By bridging science and public management, this proposal seeks to strengthen the public debate on AMR and contribute to incorporating the issue into health, environmental, and sanitary surveillance policies in Brazil.
