Abstract

This qualitative and exploratory study analyzes the work of psychologists in Primary Care in highly vulnerable territories in the municipalities of Santos and São Vicente, São Paulo, with a focus on preventing disasters and emergencies. Based on semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis, the objective is to identify the practices of these professionals and understand the relationship between risk prevention, environmental racism and social vulnerability. The research is divided into three stages: bibliographic review in the SciELO and PePSIC databases, data collection through interviews with psychologists in vulnerable areas, and data analysis in the light of collective health and decolonial perspectives. The expected results seek to identify gaps and advances in the practice of psychology in risk scenarios, highlighting the need for an intersectional approach to address structural inequalities that worsen the impacts of disasters. Thus, the study proposes to strengthen the presence of psychology in comprehensive risk management, contributing to a practice that promotes social justice and the reduction of vulnerabilities in disaster contexts.
