Abstract

CBioClima, created in 2023 at the UNESP Institute of Biosciences, is a research center focused on tropical biodiversity and climate change, bringing together more than 100 national and international scientists. Funded by FAPESP and supported by several institutions, the center adopts a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the impacts of climate change on biodiversity and seek solutions compatible with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With international guidelines such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, coordinated by Professor Clarisse Palma-Silva, CBioClima also works to combat inequalities that affect vulnerable populations in the face of the climate crisis. The board promotes inclusive actions and public policies, regularizing traditional knowledge and encouraging the active participation of these communities in decision-making processes. The project highlights the importance of communication. (AU)
